Connecting people, craft and the planet

Mandala

mentored by Nripal Adhykari

Nestled in the bosom of the Himalayas, the Mandala is a Buddhist Monastery for his highness Guru Chogyal Rinpoche and his disciples. The project was initiated during my professional engagement at ABARI in Nepal, and since then I have been centrally contributing to its design and execution.

The Monastery would be the only one of its kind in the country which, as envisaged, would exemplify a spectacular confluence of the traditional Himalayan architecture and modern engineering. ABARI is a design and build studio which works in unison with the indigenous communities of Nepal, co-producing unparalleled modes of artistic, tectonic and social experimentation and vision.
